Cornel Amariei is a speaker , entrepreneur , author , engineer , and musician . He is internationally recognized for his vision in the field of innovation and technology.
He is the founder of .lumen , a Romanian startup that creates smart glasses for the blind , giving them independence and a better life.
Previously, Cornel was Head of Innovation at Continental Automotive Systems , being promoted at just 23. This experience solidified his reputation as a young and visionary technology leader .
He was born into a special family: both parents have locomotor disabilities and his sister has mental disabilities. Instead of limiting him, these challenges inspired him. They helped him develop a deep empathy and a constant desire to innovate to improve the lives of others.
Cornel is also an inventor , with over 30 international patents . In addition, he is a musician , industrial designer and photographer , a man who combines science, art and technology in a common vision: human progress.
For his achievements, Cornel Amariei has received numerous international awards :
- The first Romanian included in Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe
- Winner of the JCI – Ten Outstanding Young People of the World , an award previously given to figures such as John F. Kennedy and Elvis Presley
- The first Romanian included in the Global Business Hall of Fame by JA (2021) , alongside Melanie Perkins (Canva) , and in the past by Estée Lauder and Levi Strauss
